Lora’s Reads in 2026
Welcome to Lora’s Reads, my personal reading list for the year! This year, I’ve decided to get back into reading and make it a consistent habit. As I finish each book, I’ll add it to this post under the month it was completed for easy organization. That way, you can quickly browse what I’ve read throughout the year.
Along the way, I’ll share a growing list of titles across different genres. So whether you love fiction, nonfiction, or something in between, you may discover your next favorite book here. Plus, this list will continue to grow as the months go on. Be sure to check back often to see what I’m reading next!

The Least Likely to Succeed by Jack Clifford – Creator of the Food Network
Least Likely to Succeed by Jack Clifford is a candid memoir about growing up underestimated. From the start, Clifford describes life as a kid who did not fit the academic mold. He was restless, often bored, and frequently written off by teachers. As a result, many assumed success would come to others, not him.
However, instead of offering a tidy redemption story, he embraces the messiness of growth. Rather than following a straight path, he learns through trial and error. Over time, curiosity and stubborn determination begin to reshape his future. In fact, his refusal to accept low expectations becomes his greatest strength.
As the story unfolds, the focus shifts from achievement to meaning. Specifically, Clifford challenges the idea of conventional success. He reflects on risk-taking and learning through failure. At the same time, he highlights the quiet power of self-belief. Because of that mindset, being labeled “least likely” becomes an unexpected advantage.
Ultimately, this book motivates without promising easy wins. Instead, it reminds readers that early labels do not define a lifetime. And honestly, knowing this copy was signed by Jack himself makes it even more special. Since his wife personally sent it, the connection feels meaningful. In the end, the story proves that success is shaped by people, persistence, and purpose.
