Buffalo Check Home Decor from Amazon
We keep a pretty neutral tone in the house. While this may be boring to some (they don’t live here, so I don’t care), I find it quite freeing. With a mostly neutral palette, I’m able to accessorize easily to emphasize whatever color I want to. Green for St. Patrick’s Day? Easy. Orange and Black for Halloween? Easy. So, when I decided that I wanted to change out my curtains, an easy choice to purchase my new favorite pattern – Buffalo Check.
I found a set of curtains and a table runner on Amazon that I’ve been able to incorporate into our decor all year long.
What’s Buffalo Check?
Similar to a plaid, buffalo check is usually 2-3 colors with squares of equal sizes. The squares are larger than would be in a gingham pattern, and without stripes like a plaid pattern has. Buffalo check is very popular in the farmhouse style of decor.
Choosing New Curtains
After browsing through some choices on Amazon, I came upon a set that worked both visually and were within my price point.
These Buffalo Check curtains come in a variety of sizes, styles, and colors. We chose black and white single panels in the 54″ x 84″ size.

So I know most home decor sites, bloggers, magazines recommend getting the curtains down to the floor. I love the way the longer curtains look. But, with two active pups, I just wasn’t about the hair I figured they would collect. Perhaps I’ll be brave with my next set of curtains and purchase the longer ones.
Ordering
I placed the order on October 31. As I am an Amazon prime member, the curtains arrived within days.
There were some wrinkles in the package as a result of packing and shipping. Instead of ironing or steaming, I was too excited and just humg them up right out of the package. The creases worked themselves out a few days after hanging. I was quite pleased.

A Table Runner to match.
My next step was finding a table runner for the dining room. I found this Buffalo Check table runner from Amazon immediately.
Besides Black & White, this table runner is available in:
- Orange & Black
- Red Plaid
- Red & Black
You can order a length of 14″ x 72″ like I did, or 14″ x 108″. If we had any longer of a table, or had the leaf extender in our table more often, I would have gone with the 108″ length.
To break it up a bit and bring in some of our green accent color, I’ve placed a wooden carving board in the center of the table. Atop the carving board I have some lime green color vases, and a bowl of limes ready for margaritas.
Buffalo Check In Our Home
The check pattern, though smaller than I would have normally chosen, actually looks really great in the living room. My living room has white walls, tan carpet, gray furniture, and dark wood finish tables. The room consists of neutral colors. These buffalo check pattern curtains add that needed detail.
